Frequently asked questions
Can I take this if I don't have a thyroid?
ThyVita was formulated specifically for people with thyroid issues — and for those who no longer have a thyroid at all. As always, check with your doctor before starting any new vitamin routine.
How big are the caplets?
ThyVita caplets are similar in size to a standard Tylenol caplet. With 22 ingredients packed into each tablet, we think the size is very manageable — but comfort varies from person to person.
Does this have iron or iodine?
ThyVita Women’s Ultra does include iron, iodine, and folic acid. If you need a formula without those ingredients, our sister product — Vitality — is a great alternative. Vitality is iron-free, iodine-free, and uses folate instead of folic acid.
Does this have enough Vitamin D?
The Vitamin D Council recommends around 5,000 IU of vitamin D per day. ThyVita provides 4,000 IU per day when taking the full 3-caplet serving. If you think you may need more or less than that, it’s best to speak with your doctor so they can check your levels and determine whether additional supplementation is necessary.
Will this replace other vitamins or thyroid meds?
ThyVita is designed to support your thyroid treatment — not replace your thyroid medication. In many cases, ThyVita can take the place of multiple other supplements, unless your doctor has prescribed higher or lower doses than what’s included in our formula. Always check with your doctor or pharmacist to see how ThyVita fits into your current regimen.
Does this have enough Selenium?
ThyVita’s ingredients work together to support better results. Our formula includes 20 mcg of selenium, and because our patented nutrients offer higher absorption, many people notice improvements not only in how they feel, but also in their hair and overall wellness. If you think you may need additional selenium or any other nutrient, be sure to speak with your physician.
Can ThyVita be taken with thyroid medication?
ThyVita can be taken in connection with thyroid medication but must be separated by 4 hours or more. Most people take it at lunchtime or late morning for best results.
What's the difference between Women's Ultra and Vitality?
The key difference between Ultra and Vitality is that Ultra contains iodine, iron, and folic acid, while Vitality contains straight folate instead of folic acid. Folate is a naturally occurring form that the body can use directly, which may be particularly beneficial for individuals with specific needs related to how their bodies process folic acid, such as those with the MTHFR gene variant. Other benefits are better bioavailability, supports cell growth and function, helps maintain heart health and supports brain and cognitive function.
